Gen 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”
Gen 1:26 “And God said, let us make man in our image, after our likeness:
and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the
air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing
that creepeth upon the earth.”
Gen 1:27 “So God created man in his own image…,”
So here we are! There I was with the Lover of my soul. I remember it like
it was yesterday.
He wore a gleaming white robe with a majestic purple trim. I, beside Him,
was wearing a beautiful purple and white dress with a gold trim. Hand in hand, He
and I were walking through a desert. As we were walking, He was teaching me
about His wonderful works and showing me great things He had made, the meanings
of them, and the reasons why He had created them.
I bent down and ask Him the meaning of creating dirt, He knelt down and
began to say " This dirt seems to be nothing right now, but if you add a
little life to it, that same meaningless dirt means everything to the life that
is put into it. I did this to show you that no matter how dirty you may get, no
matter what you do to make your life messy, as long as you have Me, there will
always be life inside of you to for you to be able to hang onto that life and
grow out from your mess to make something beautiful of it."
He knelt down and placed a seed in the ground and poured a little bit of
water over it. He looked up at me and said that there was one thing that
everything needed in order to live. Then He leaned over and began to breathe
over it. I knelt down to see what was happening, and I was completely in awe of
His wondrous miracles as I watched a leaf gracefully begin to appear out of the
ground until it formed into the most beautiful flower. He looked up at me once
more and smiled. He rose and continued on walking.
At times it seems like we forget to slow down and observe what Father God
has created. We seem to forget to stop and smell the roses by the road side
while strolling down the lane. We forget that, even though it is true, it is
not just in life situations that things are done with and for a reason. Father
God wants us to not look at just the big pictures, but He wants us to focus and
learn from the smallest things. Look at the ant. They are very tiny and
forgotten at most times, but if we took time to watch them we learn that no
matter how big the object in the situation is they work hard until that project
is done. They do not focus on how big and how hard the project is; they focus
on what needs to be done to build it or to tear it down. They go step by step
until it is done and they do not try to rush. What can we learn from the caterpillar?
We learn that if we have patience through our process, even though we may be small
and it feels like we aren’t going anywhere or doing anything, we will
eventually come out of our cocoon. We will have our wings of knowledge, gifts,
and callings, and know how to use them. In Col 3:17 it says “Whatsoever ye do
in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and
the Father by him.” We can do this and God wants to teach us how. We just have
slow down, learn from God’s creation, and live one day at a time. Mat 6:34 “Take
therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the
things of itself.”
God, thank you for teaching us how to live simple. Thank you for being
patient with us even when we try to rush our way through life. Help us to learn
from Your creation and work hard and to be patient with what life throws at us.
We know that all things were made by you for a reason, please help us to use
that to help us be and do what you have created us to be and do.
Thank You Jesus! Amen.
